At the moment

At the moment there are alot of things going on. alot of healty food and workouts, combined with alot of work. The sea is FLAT as the place where we live and it does not look like there will be waves the next week. not cool!

Im not building alot of webpages at the moment either, i got invited to work with my bro and dad building houses, so that is what i will do now for a while!

Yep, went out today, but the waves where not that good. Would have been sweet to get some good long rides, but not today! But its all good,no worries! The sun was up, shining on us, and the ice is gone, felt good! Cant believe the summer is upon us. I was happy to be in the water again, thats for sure! Lets hope for better waves next time yeah!

A year ago this time of the year, i stressed my ass off to get the RETO board done in time. Patricia Wiklund also made a short video of the board beeing made so there was a lot of things going on. We planned to make a video about the board being surfed, but there was no waves until august here in Finland. Only one day in may with really bad small waves(photo above).

Anyways, now the ice has melted on the ocean, (there is no ice here anymore at least) but if you go more north its still frozen for most of the parts, but i am sure it will be gone in a couple of weeks. So lets hope for some storms, so we could actually get the board in the water!

A big sorry for the upcoming video and the delay, but it is not easy to follow mother nature, but lets hope for the best!

It is official, we are going!

Couple of weeks ago i got invited (with RETO) to the Byron surf festival in October 2013. It will be held in the end of October 25-27 in byron bay, Australia.
It has taken us some time to figure out if we can go or not, cause it is a ”long” trip, which means that we will stay at least one month or two there.
And it has to work out with the holidays, work etc, for the both of us.

Anyways, we are going! How could i say no to a great festival like this on? there is no way! In 2012 shapers like Bob McTavish, Tom Wegener, Ryan Lovelace
was there. Can’t wait to see the program this year!

I will give you a better update later when i know more. Its time to save up some money and book the tickets! Good stuff!

Spring is here.

The spring is here, and in a couple of weeks the summer will arrive! Usually it gets green mid may. Went to Larsmo today to work on my board. Removed all the old wax from last season and checked so the board was in good shape, which it was. The ocean is still frozen for the most part, but i thing that the ice will be gone in a week or so. Then its on with the Patagonia suit as soon as the wind starts roaring.

Really happy how this board came out. In 2011 i rode samis board that Larry Mabile had shaped for him. Really liked the feel of the fish/twinfin and i had sami to contact Larry Mabile to tell him to make another one, with the same measurements. It is a white pony 6’4 little thicker for finnish conditions. Works perfect!

I designed a rostrum/podium for the concert hall here in jakobstad some time ago. And some of that money was spent on a new noserider
from Wavegliders in Ericeira. I have been wanting a longboard for the last 3 years, but i never could afford one, so i decided that now wasthe time to get one!

It will be orange with a glassed on fin(white) It will have the same resin tint as the board from Harrison Roach. Cant wait to see it, get it and get it in the
water. longboards are fun!

Got a couple of waves

Been some days now, have not been on the computer.

Went to Las Palmas(La cicier) on wednesday and found out that the waves where not too big but they where formed pretty well! Sun was out and the weather was really good, and alot of surfers at the beach. I went to the mojo surfshop and when i came in, i found my board right away that i wanted to hire. It was a 9’0 noserider and i knew that this was the board for the day.

Went out with my laesh t shirts(a clothing company started by my skateboard buddies) on, and boardshort. MAN was it good? yeah it was great, have not been surfing in boardshorts and t shirt since bali 2011. Got a couple of headhigh waves and long rides. I had so much fun! i surfed for 3 hours straight and it was time to go in. Super happy with the day and with the longboard. We went for some shopping(i didnt shop anything, but my girlfriend did) and after that we went back to taurito. A gooood day!

Now many days later we are home again, the ice has started to melt and it looks like the season will start in a couple of weeks.
